The BRE (Building Research Establishment) Innovation Park, showcase of the very latest in innovative methods of construction, and in cutting edge but practical and affordable sustainability.
One of the main highlights of the INSITE 09 event at BRE will be the unveiling of three exciting new buildings and the winning landscape concept which will all feature as part of the full-scale demonstration buildings on the BRE Innovation Park.
The Prince’s Foundation – Natural House
Construction starts in February 2009 on The Natural House – a low energy home built from natural materials by the Prince of Wales’ architectural charity the Prince’s Foundation for the Built Environment. The house is being built on the BRE Innovation Park in Watford and will demonstrate an alternative response to environmental efficiency in sustainable homebuilding.

The National Non-Food Crops Centre – Hemp House
NNFCC stands for The National Non-Food Crops Centre. The UK's national centre for renewable fuels, materials and technologies, based in York. NNFCC are proud to be taking the next step in this unique project to study and evaluate the performance of a Renewable House. By building a Renewable House the project team will show that low costs and renewable materials are compatible. The Renewable House will be showcased at INSITE09, at BRE, Watford on 1-4 June 2009.

Creo Prokoncept – ICF Mixed Use Development
Creo Prokoncept has signed a contract with the United Kingdom Building Research Establishment to build a demonstration 4 storey Social housing complex at the innovation park Watford. The building structure formed completely from Creo Prokoncept’s complete wall, floor and roofing structure will be the first all ICF social demonstration house in the UK.
